Why You Should Use A Travel Professional: Reason Three - I Advocate For You

     We are covering what I consider to be the most important reason you should be using a travel professional - Advocacy.  What does that mean?  It means if something goes sideways, I fight for you to be sure that you are taken care of and receive fair compensation.  I call whom ever I need to call, send emails and yes, I have even filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau when a hotel wouldn't honor a rate for a client.        

     Let's look at an actual scenario.  You arrive at the resort and the first night is amazing. The second night there are loud construction sounds coming from the room next door.  You call the front desk to complain.  You are told that the noise is coming off site from a different property but they can, however, move you to another room.  This would work except this means a down grade of rooms.  What do you do?  If you are like most people, you don't really know how to handle this situation.  Do you complain loudly and risk being the next meme on social media?  Do you ask to speak to a manager?  Maybe it was the manager who made the offer.  If you had used the services of a travel professional you know what to do, call THEM and let THEM sort it.  I am a tactical negotiator who doesn't mind sitting on hold while I go up the chain to get results.  How much time do you have to invest - while on vacation - to sorting a situation not being addressed by the resort, cruise line, escorted tour, airline, car rental company - you see where this is going?  The most you will be asked of me is for either picture or video documentation and maybe the persons name at the front desk.  If I need anything out of the ordinary, I will ask you for it.  Beyond that, I got this!  As part of the service I provide, I advocate on your behalf if a supplier makes a mistake or if you're not happy with the service provided.  I negotiate on your behalf for the best compensation for your poor experience.  

     Remember, I don't sell vacations or trips - I broker in experiences.  If your overall experience is negative it could sour you on a destination, type of travel or even my service.  I don't want any of those things to happen.  Will there be times when all I can do is send emails and make calls on your behalf?  Yes, it does happen.  When does it happen?  More than likely when the traveler doesn't call me while it is happening.  All they did was complain at the local level.  I need to know about those experiences when they are happening so that I can address them immediately with the supplier.  Why?  Because they want a favorable experience with me as well.  I am an influencer.  Suppliers need travel professionals to recommend them over all the other resorts, cruise lines, escorted tours, etc.  There are thousands of options to choose from and Jane and John Q Public need help in sorting through the noise.  I make recommendations based on what I know about you from our conversations not solely about where you want to go and how long you want to be there.  I am a travel matchmaker.

     When you use my services, don't be afraid to call or text me about a situation, that's literally part of the service I provide to you.  Let your travel professional do all of the heavy lifting for you while you relax at the spa or enjoy that private tour planned for you.
